What Are ASTM A312, ASTM A358 & ASTM A409 Stainless Steel Large Diameter Welded Pipes?

Large diameter SS welded pipes are manufactured from stainless steel plates or coils by using longitudinal welding processes (ERW / EFW) and are mostly used where:

Manufacturing Process of API 5L Welded Line Pipes

1️ Coil/Plate Selection

High-quality carbon steel plates and coils are selected as per PSL1/PSL2 chemistry.

2️ Forming & Welding

  • ERW: Electric resistance creates weld
  • LSAW: SAW welding along the longitudinal direction

3️ Heat Treatment (If Required)
