What Are SAW, LSAW & HSAW Pipes?

SAW (Submerged Arc Welded) Pipes
SAW pipes are produced by feeding filler wire into a submerged arc welding process, creating a deep, strong weld suitable for thick-wall and high-pressure service.

LSAW (Longitudinal Submerged Arc Welded) Pipes

How SAW / LSAW / HSAW Pipes Are Manufactured (Step-by-Step)

Each type has a defined manufacturing method, but the core stages remain consistent:

1️ Raw Material – Plates / Coils Selection

  • LSAW uses welded plates (UOE or JCOE)
  • HSAW uses wide steel coils

2️ Pipe Forming
