Titanium Welded Pipes Manufacturer, Supplier & Exporter – Inox Steel India

Inox Steel India is a leading manufacturer and global exporter of Titanium Welded Pipes in Grade 2 (Commercially Pure Titanium) and Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V), produced in full compliance with ASTM B862. Titanium welded pipes are known for their exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, outstanding corrosion resistance, biocompatibility, and high-temperature stability, making them one of the most advanced engineering materials in the world.

Titanium Grade 2 welded pipes are preferred for marine, desalination, heat exchanger, chemical processing, and chlorinated fluid applications. Titanium Grade 5 welded pipes are used where extreme strength, pressure handling, and thermal stability are required — such as in aerospace, defense, offshore drilling, and high-performance industrial systems.

Our manufacturing process follows precise GTAW/Plasma welding procedures, controlled heat input, and mandatory NDT to ensure weld integrity, corrosion resistance, and dimensional accuracy. Each pipe undergoes annealing or solution treatment to restore mechanical properties and improve long-term stability.

Inox Steel India supplies Titanium welded pipes to EPC contractors, aerospace suppliers, marine industries, desalination plants, pharmaceutical manufacturers, high-purity processing facilities, and global OEMs.

What Are Titanium Welded Pipes?

Titanium welded pipes are produced from Titanium plates or coils that are rolled, welded (GTAW/Plasma), heat-treated, NDT-tested, and annealed to meet strict ASTM B862 mechanical and corrosion standards.

Key properties of Titanium Welded Pipes:

  • High strength with lightweight advantage (45% lighter than steel)
  • Extremely resistant to chlorides, seawater, and oxidizing media
  • Excellent biocompatibility (ideal for pharma & medical systems)
  • Exceptional performance under high temperatures
  • Weld seams equal in strength to the base metal (when solution-annealed)
  • Non-magnetic & non-toxic

Titanium Grade 2 (commercially pure) offers superior corrosion resistance, while Titanium Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V) offers exceptional strength and fatigue resistance.

Types of Titanium Welded Pipes We Manufacture

  • Titanium Grade 2 Welded Pipes
  • Titanium Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V) Welded Pipes
  • ASTM B862 Welded Titanium Pipes
  • GTAW (TIG) Welded Titanium Pipes

Manufacturing Process of Titanium Welded Pipes

1️ Raw Material Verification
Titanium plates/coils undergo PMI testing to confirm grade & purity.

2️ Edge Preparation
Laser-trimmed edges for defect-free weld fusion.

3️ Forming & Rolling
Plates are rolled into cylindrical form with tight roundness tolerance.

4️ Root Welding – GTAW (TIG)
High-purity, inert-gas welding for contamination-free weld seams.

5️ Multi-Pass Welding – GTAW / Plasma
Full fusion with controlled heat input to preserve mechanical integrity.

6️ Heat Treatment (Annealed / STA)

  • Grade 2 → Annealed
  • Grade 5 → Solution Treated & Aged (or Annealed)

This step restores ductility and corrosion resistance.

7️ Surface Finishing
Pickled & cleaned to remove oxides and improve corrosion performance.

8️ Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
UT, RT, DP, surface inspection, weld examination.

9️ Hydrostatic Testing
Every titanium welded pipe undergoes hydro test as required by ASTM B862.

🔟 Final Inspection & Marking

Technical Overview of Titanium Welded Pipes

Titanium Welded Pipes are engineered for applications requiring high strength, extremely low weight, and outstanding corrosion resistance. Manufactured in accordance with ASTM B862, these pipes are used in sectors where traditional materials like stainless steel, copper alloys, or nickel alloys cannot withstand chloride exposure, high temperatures, or aggressive chemical media.

Titanium Grade 2 provides excellent corrosion resistance at a lower strength, making it suitable for marine, desalination, chemical, and heat exchanger services. Titanium Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V) offers exceptionally high mechanical strength, ideal for aerospace, defense, high-pressure fluid systems, and high-performance industrial applications.

Each pipe manufactured by Inox Steel India undergoes controlled GTAW/Plasma welding, solution annealing, surface cleaning, PMI testing, hydro testing, and NDT to ensure complete compliance with ASTM B862.
